Medical and Non-Medical Transportation You Can Count On

Non-emergency medical rides to appointments, dialysis, discharges and transfers — and everyday rides for shopping, errands, family and social outings. The same trained drivers and door-through-door service, whatever the reason for the trip.

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

Door-through-door rides for the appointments, discharges and transfers that keep your care on track. Scheduled in advance — this is not a 911 service.

Stretcher & BLS Ambulance Transport

Non-emergency ambulance transport for riders who need to travel lying down or with basic life support monitoring:

  • Hospital and facility discharges, transfers between facilities, and appointments
  • BLS-certified crews on a Maryland-licensed commercial ambulance service
  • Scheduled in advance; this is not a 911 service

Wheelchair Transportation

Non-emergency rides for riders who use a wheelchair:

  • Tell us the rider's mobility needs when you request
  • Help from your door to the vehicle and inside at the other end
  • Round trips with a planned return pickup

Hospital Discharges

Going home or to the next facility after a hospital stay:

  • Scheduled and short-notice discharge rides
  • Coordination with your discharge planner
  • Settled inside the home, not dropped at the curb

Facility Transfers

  • Assisted living, rehab, and nursing home transfers
  • Belongings and paperwork ride along

Non-Medical Transportation

Staying independent and connected matters just as much as the medical trips. The same drivers, the same vehicles, and the same help from your door to wherever you are going — no doctor's order needed.

  • Groceries, pharmacy pickups, and banking
  • Post office, hardware store, and other errands
  • Multiple stops on one trip

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you serve my area?

We serve riders across Maryland. Call us to confirm service in your specific location.

How far in advance do I need to schedule?

We recommend scheduling at least 24-48 hours in advance. However, we do our best to accommodate same-day requests when possible.

Will the driver wait during my appointment?

Wait time policies vary by trip type. Our team will confirm any wait time arrangements when we contact you about your request.

Can someone come with me into my appointment?

Yes. A family member, friend, or your own caregiver is welcome to ride along — and a Golden Days caregiver can accompany you inside and stay with you through your appointment. Just let us know when you request your ride.

What if I use a wheelchair or walker?

Tell us about your wheelchair, walker, or other mobility aid when you request a ride. Our team will discuss the assistance you need and confirm the arrangements with you.

Do you only do medical trips?

No. Shopping, errands, social outings, family visits, and personal appointments are all welcome, and no doctor's order or referral is needed. Request them the same way — choose the trip type that fits on the request form or tell us when you call.
